Planning Manager (Towel)

Job Description / Responsibility

·         Ensuring that decisions are made on all aspects of the planning function; advising on order acceptance and coordinating with merchandising, sample development and the production functions, whilst making certain that plant capacity is fully utilized

·         Attending loading meetings, identifying, verifying and clarifying all planning and loading related problems and subsequently informing the relevant departments and taking measures to apply the best solutions

·         Ensuring that all issues pertaining to material unavailability are addressed and that the required materials as per specifications are available to meet production and customer requirements.

·         Developing and implementing systems, standards and procedures to improve the planning and loading processes, so as to meet the internal and external customer needs.

·         Demonstrating and establishing effective people management skills, conducting recruitments and performance appraisals, identifying strengths and weaknesses, recommending for training interventions, increments and promotions, and ensuring that the requisite skills are available to meet the current and future challenges

·         Negotiating terms and dealing with sub-contractors for capacity utilization whilst monitoring performance and deliveries

·         Overseeing the preparation of the necessary reports and schedules such as given below to facilitate managerial and operational decision making

·         Plant capacity status report

·         Pre-production schedule

·         Performing additional duties commensurate with the current role when requested
